Tabular Alumina is the alumina sintered at ultra-high temperature.It has a thick and well-developed crystal alpha-phase Al2O3 structure,which is sheet-like in microcosmic.The content of Al2O3 in Tabular alumina is over 99%.It has low apparent porosity and water absorption,hihg purity,good volume stability and very small reburing shrinkage.It can be used to produce refractories or castables,which has excellent thermal shock stability,scour resistence and flexural strength after high temperature treatment.
It can be usd as the main component of refractory bricks(alumium-carbon bricks,alumium-magnesium carbon bricks,magnesia-alumium carbon bricks,magnesia-spinel bricks and alumium-chronium bricks).It can also be introduced into high aluminium amorphous refractories as the enriched alumina component.It is also widely used in steel,casting,ceramics and other industrials.Especially in steel industry,the application of tabular alumina alumost covers the whole process of iron-making and stell-making.
